Fossils

The flora assemblage of the Ussuriysk Formation includes 35 taxa, among which ferns and conifers are most diverse (Volynets, 2015). The most abundant species are ferns Coniopteris (Dicksonia) burejensis, Onychiopsis psilotoides, Adiantopteris yuasensis and conifers Podozamites tenuinervis and Pseudolarix dorofeevi. The characteristic feature of the assemblage is the presence of the widespread conifer Elatides asiatica (Volynets, 2013). A sporepollen assemblage from the Ussuriysk Formation includes Cicatricosisporites multicostatus, Appendicisporites macrorhyzus, Baculatisporites comaumensis, Foraminisporites asymmetricus, Concavissimisporites asper, C. varriverrucatus, Impardecispora apiverrucata (determination of V.S. Markevich).

Age

Both the flora and the spore-pollen assemblages suggest the Barremian range of the Ussuriysk Formation (Markevich, 1995; Volynets, 2015).
